Stephanie Snow

Stephanie's journey into the world of birth began at the tender age of 8 when she witnessed her mother's unassisted homebirth. This profound experience ignited her enduring belief that birth is a natural and awe-inspiring facet of life. Her path took an unexpected turn at the age of 26 when she seized the opportunity to apprentice with a local Birth Attendant, setting the course for her life's purpose.

Over the span of 25 years, Stephanie has devoted herself to supporting families during homebirths, accumulating invaluable expertise through over 1000 births across a diverse range of circumstances. Each woman and family she has assisted has contributed to her wellspring of wisdom and reaffirmed her unwavering belief in the innate beauty and normalcy of birth.

In 2007, Stephanie earned her credential as CPM, and in 2018 she was licensed as a massage therapist. However, she steadfastly maintains that true mastery in the art of birth attendance cannot be encapsulated by any certification. Her own journey as a mother has seen the birth of eight children, both at home and in the hospital, providing her with a rich tapestry of personal experiences.

Stephanie's adulthood has been a lifelong exploration of subjects such as nutrition, natural remedies, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, parenting, and the profound mystery of existence in our world. Through her dedication and compassionate care, she continues to honor her calling as a Traditional Birth Attendant, nurturing the transformative power of childbirth in the lives of countless families.

Mandy Allender

Mandy began in the field of sonography, where she dedicated 15 years to refining her ultrasound expertise within the medical system, supporting a diverse array of women, men and families. After her first childbirth experience in a mainstream hospital setting left her longing for a more meaningful approach, her subsequent births took place in a local birth center and ultimately at home.

This profound experience sparked Mandy's deep-seated desire to empower women in the comfort of their own homes.  Unfortunately, before that dream could be realized, she and her husband Brock lost their young son, Rory, in an accidental drowning.

Life, and dream, and passion - it all stopped.

However, part of this journey that we are all on together includes great loss and coming back again.  When invited to join Stephanie at prenatals one fall morning, Mandy said yes - to life, and to Birth.  She embarked on a five-year journey as an apprentice in Stephanie's practice, soaking up invaluable knowledge and hands-on experience. In August of 2022, Mandy earned her credential as CPM.  It is not an exaggeration to say that serving women in their birthing time quite literally saved her.

Mandy's commitment extends beyond childbirth, as she has dedicated considerable time to doula training, lactation consulting, and the art of birth photography. She also has a huge passion for grief, bereavement, loss, and death - and is willing to sit in hard spaces with anyone who is feeling their most broken.

Our Story

We, Mandy and Stephanie, now work closely together as a team; sister-guides in training and credentials; experienced women and mothers in practice.  Together, we are constantly learning and proudly serving the families that come to us with commitment and care. We are not nurses, doctors, or Certified Nurse Midwives.

We are simply women.

Women who are willing to walk along side you through pregnancy, childbearing years, and beyond.
