Obstetrics in USA.
Currently, 98% of babies born in America are born in the hospital. There is a common belief that hospitals are the safest place for mothers and babies, and that the role of the hospital staff is to walk women through their experiences in whatever way may be best for them.
Unfortunately, the medical care system in our country is fraught with inherent problems that are completely antithetical to that picture, and most women find themselves having experiences that promote the legal welfare of the hospital and staff, and not the comfort and safety of mothers and babies.
While we are grateful for our modern technology and surgical
capabilities, the price our society pays in the lack of humanity in our hospital policies and procedures is too high. We hope that in offering comprehensive consulting on all women’s options and choices throughout their childbearing years, we can promote health and safety while also maintaining each woman’s autonomy and basic human rights.
